Could not create JVM while building with cygwin

I am trying build my code using cygwin. But when I am building I am getting the below error:

    cygpath: can't convert empty path
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: ignoring option MaxPermSize=512m; support was removed in 8.0
Unrecognized VM option 'UseCompressedOops'
Did you mean '(+/-)CheckCompressedOops'?

I have 8GB of RAM size and building in windows 7 machine. I tried incresing the heap size for JVM. But still it did not resolve the issue. Please help.
