Please explain this line used in android programming "buttonsel.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener())" [on hold]

I am totally new to android programming and sometimes while watching online tutorials they use this line buttonsel.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener()); to perform action on click and they do not explain how it works and what is the meaning of setOnClickListener(), so please explain me.
